Unemployment Lowers to 5.8 per cent
The Australian jobs market managed an increase of only 300 persons in February which is the third month in a row it has failed to make a positive impact with unemployment lower at 5.8%
There were expectations of an increase of around 12,000 which was a lower than a forecast offered in a survey by Bloomberg of 27 economist.
Full time employment which had a drop of 40,300 in January saw some positivity with an increase of 15.900 which helped the decline of 15,600 part-time workers. Since February 2015 we have seen an increase of 2.06 per cent in employment representing an increase of 239,400 workers but over the last 3 months we have seen employment fall by 6,600, a trend we don’t wish to continue.
